NCHS Senior Spotlight!
NCHS Senior Spotlight: From Kira Douglas…
My favorite memory from highschool is probably freshman year when we won powderpuff. The thing that makes me the most Thunderbird Proud was getting the chance to be a leader this past volleyball season. With such a small team I really enjoyed getting to get to know younger players, making new friends, and getting to watch them improve so much through the season. The advice I would leave for the underclassmen is, I”t really does go by faster than you think, and don’t be afraid to be yourself. Don’t worry about what others will think, do what makes you happy, join the clubs, play that sporst, wear what you want, These really are the years you can do anything with so make them count! Oh, and just choose your friends wisely. A bad friend group could make the difference between a good and bad year.”
Good advice. We are very PROUD of you Kira. The administration, staff, and teachers of NCHS wish you much success in your life journey after high school! #ThunderbirdProud

NCHS Senior Spotlight: From Abigail Middaugh…
My favorite memory in high school would definitely have to be meeting my best friend Alexis Hoffman in person. (We only knew each other and talked through social media until freshman year). Making so many memories with her the past 4 years I couldn’t just choose one. My favorite elementary memory would of course be kindergarten with Mrs. Jansen. She had the best classroom ever and she was and still is the best person ever! 🙂
I did do FFA for 2 years but other then that I never really joined clubs or sports. I don’t like to be on the spot light for people to watch me do my thing. The one thing that does make me Thunderbird Proud is being able to communicate with everyone and get to know them because we are a smaller school!
My legacy advice to underclassmen:
“Don’t make the mistake I did by not joining clubs or sports! Do them and be yourself even if you think you “don’t fit in” or “you’re not good enough” there’s no such thing as fitting in and not being good enough as much as you’ll want to think there is in high school. Talk to people and express yourself. ALWAYS do your homework, ALWAYS ask for help even if your scared, and ALWAYS study study study for those tests. You’ll regret it if you don’t. 🙂 and last but not least HAVE A TON OF FUN while your in high school because it goes by fast! Even if our 4 years did get cut a little more. 😉 “
Great advice Abigail. We are very PROUD of you. Congratulations! The teachers, staff, and administration of NCHS want to wish you all the best in your life journey beyond high school! #ThunderbirdProud

My favorite thing about high school was Drama Club. And while I don’t have one favorite memory, Drama Club has left me lots of wonderful memories.
What I would tell underclassmen is to get involved, school activities is where you can build the strongest bonds and friendships. And it motivates you to always do your best.
Great advice Miriam! We are very PROUD of you! Congratulations! The administration, teachers, and staff of NCHS wish you much success in your life journey beyond high school! #ThunderbirdProud

NCHS Senior Spotlight: From Ciara Raithel…
My favorite high school memory is when the Parliamentary Procedure team placed 5th at State or being with my friends. My favorite middle school memory is when my art class would draw on the art tables or when we would hide under the bleachers. FFA and football make me Thunderbird Proud . I love football so being able to interact with the players on Thursdays for team meals and going to the games was the highlight of my week. FFA made my high school years. Competing and meeting new people drove me to be better and more involved. My advice to the underclassmen would be “ Don’t wish for it to be over because when it is, you’ll want it back. It goes by faster than you realize.”
We are very PROUD of you Ciara! Congratulations! The staff, teachers, and administration of NCHS wish you much success in your life journey beyond high school. #ThunderbirdProud

NCHS Senior Spotlight: From Alex Higgins…
My favorite memories about high school would be both times we won the Callaway Cup and running out onto the field with the team celebrating. In grade school it would probably be going to the zoo on a field trip or Autonburg days and the discussions we would have with Mrs. Maddox. In high school I’ve been a part of several clubs but the one that make me the most Thunderbird Proud was StuCo. Through being a part of Student Council at North Callaway I have been able to meet so many people from other schools and create many memories, but also appreciate North Callaway and the charm it has. Also I was able to bring new ideas and have a lot of fun planning events for my fellow students. I loved seeing and making others happy! To the underclassmen, I made it a point to go into high school wanting to be a part of as many things as possible to make as many great memories as possible no matter if it made me get out of my comfort zone, if it scared me, or if it was hard. Since my senior year has been interrupted and maybe ended I have realized that while I wish to have had those last memories and moments, I have had so many great moments that I know if I don’t get the lasts, I will have still had an amazing high school experience. The teachers and staff at North Callaway consist of some great people that truly care about you and want you to have a good experience. So, work hard and show up to everything you can! Clubs and sports at North Callaway have brought me so much joy and bonds with people. Don’t be afraid to get out there! Having that courage to do stuff that may make you uncomfortable like trying musicals, going to StuCo camp, or even going to watch a basketball game, will bring you happiness. Those little things will add up, and you can sleep when you’re dead, so don’t miss out! And you still have time! These are the last years you have to truly be a kid. At this time in your lives, you have the least responsibility compared to the rest of your lives ahead. Go out, have fun, and experience life! When you’re a senior be able to look back and say you had a great time. That there was way more good in your life than bad. P.S. keep your grades up though because they set you up for the rest of your life and bad grades means you miss out on the fun! From the awesomest senior, Alex Higgins
Great advice. We are so PROUD of you Alex! Congratulations! The teachers, staff, and administration wish you much success in your life journey beyond high school! #ThunderbirdProud

NCHS Senior Spotlight: From Brianna Douglas…
My favorite memories of high school were all the times I got to spend with my best friends growing up together. Cross country made me the most Thunderbird Proud! We worked hard at every practice to reach our goals . I wouldn’t have wanted to run 5 years of cross country at any other school with any other Coach or team. Some advice I would want to leave to the underclassmen is, ” Don’t care too much about what others think. Do what makes you happy, wear what you are comfortable in, act respectfully, and make the most of the time you have.”
Fantastic advice Brianna. We are very PROUD of you. The administration, teachers, and staff of NCHS wish you the best in your life journey beyond high school! Congratulations! #ThunderbirdProud
