New Teacher Feature!
New Teacher Feature: We would like to welcome Mrs. Paulette Eichman to our NCHS family. Transferring here from Auxvasse, she will be in the roles of English teacher and Head Volleyball Coach here at the high school. When asked to describe herself in one word, Mrs. Eichman stated, “Dedicated” and we know that you will see this in her classroom as well as on the volleyball court throughout the year! In order to get to know her a little better, we asked Mrs. Eichman some questions:
1. Where are you from? Do you have children/grandchildren or a pet?
Grew up in Coffeyville, KS, but call my husband’s family farm near Westmoreland, KS, ‘back home’.
We have 4 children. Nate (’14) is serving in the US Navy and is stationed on the USS Eisenhower in Norfolk, VA. Destri (’16) will be a senior at Westminster College and plans to go on to medical school after graduation. Allyson (’18) will be a sophomore at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN and Grant (’21) is active in FFA, XC, and BB here at NCHS.
We have an 18 year old cat named Brave.
2. Name an interesting fact about you and/or your family.
We have traveled extensively in the US and have visited 48 states as a family….I have visited 49!
3. When did you first become aware that you wanted to be a teacher? (or an administrator?)
My kindergarten school book says I wanted to be a teacher and that was confirmed my sophomore year of college when I took an interest placement test–the rest is history. I followed in the footsteps of my grandma who was one of the first women administrators in CA and my older brother who is currently the Commissioner of Education for the state of Kansas.
4. What are you looking forward to the most in working with the students at NCHS?
I’m looking forward to seeing them grow in their knowledge so they can be prepared for their world ahead — be that a job, technical training, or college.
5. What does Thunderbird Proud mean to you?
Being your best to make the world a better place is Thunderbird Proud
We are excited to have Mrs. Eichman join our team! Be sure to stop in and introduce yourself and say hi at our Back to School Bash on Tuesday!#ThunderbirdProud
