2022 Senior Spotlight: Andrew’s favorite memory in high school is, ” Playing in a quarterfinal game my junior year! The tension was at an all-time high and I will never forget the energy in that building. Even though we lost I’m glad to be a part of such a great moment.”Andrew has this to say about being Thunderbird Proud, “Playing football this year made me feel the proudest of being a thunderbird. After winning against South Callaway and reclaiming the Callaway Cup it was a satisfying experience to have.” One piece of advice Andrew would like to give anyone would be to “Stay true to yourself. Don’t change anything about yourself to stay relevant to others. It’s a waste of time and you get nothing out of it.”After high school, Andrew plans to attend Mizzou and stay with my older sister. He hopes to get involved with Civil engineering. It’s been an aspiration of his for years. We are super proud of you Andrew! 2022 Senior Spotlight: Payton’s favorite high school memory is, “Having a lil’ competitive rivalry with Blake Whipple but still being able to be best friends growing up.” Playing football is what has made Payton the most Thunderbird Proud. His legacy advice to underclassmen is, “Don’t take it for granted, if you wanna do something do it. You don’t wanna regret it.” After high school, Payton plans to attend Westminster College to play football and major in Physical Education. We are very proud of you Payton! 2022 Senior Spotlight: Kaelyn’s favorite memory in high school was being in the marching band! Kaelyn says, “Marching band has been one of the best activities I have done. I have made so many new friends and lifelong friends through my four years.” The thing that has made Kaelyn the most Thunderbird Proud is being a part of the marching band at football games. We are always the loudest cheering our Thunderbirds on!!!! Her legacy advice to underclassmen is, ” Don’t wait to get involved. Before you know it these 4 years will be gone and you’re out in the big world. Don’t be afraid of what other people are gonna think. ” Kaelyn’s plans after high school are to attend Glasgow University in Scotland and go to nursing school. We are very proud of you Kaelyn! 2022 Senior Spotlight: Devin’s favorite memory in high school was, “When we all played hockey in the gym and beat the seniors!” What made Devin the most Thunderbird Proud was, “Being a part of painting the field for the pink out game and later that night we ended up beating the team we were playing by 4 touchdowns!” His legacy advice to underclassmen is, “Don’t hold back. Keep trying new things. Be part of a club or a sport because high school only happens once and after it’s over the real world starts!” After high school, Devin plans to obtain his mechanical engineering degree and build/race dirt cars! 2022 Senior Spotlight: Kyanne’s favorite memories in high school were wandering the halls with her friends and going into the teacher’s lounge. In grade school, it was the relay for life days! Being a part of FBLA made her the most Thunderbird Proud because ” We were always the group that had the most fun!” Kyanne’s legacy advice to underclassmen is, “High school is supposed to be laid back and easy-going. Don’t take everything so seriously. There is time for work and fun! You just have to manage your time!” Kyanne’s plans after high school are to go back to Kansas and attend KU to study journalism. 2022 Senior Spotlight: Ryelle’s favorite memory in high school is playing basketball with her sister, Daelyn. In grade school, it was going to the Hatton carnival, field day, and playing reindeer games before Christmas break! The things that made Ryelle the most Thunderbird Proud were participating in softball, basketball, and track. Her legacy advice to her underclassmen is, “Enjoy where you are now and appreciate all of the small moments.” After high school, Ryelle plans to attend State Fair Community College to become a Dental Hygienist.
