2022 Senior Spotlight: Lydia Backer

Lydia says her favorite high school memories, “Would have to be cross country practices my senior year with my best friends.” When asked what makes her the most Thunderbird Proud, Lydia states, ” I think seeing my team mates push themselves to their max at every cross country meet truly made me the most thunderbird proud. Just seeing how much they could accomplish made me so proud.”Her legacy advice to underclassmen is, “If you’re unhappy, make a change and fix it. I was unhappy my freshman year at the school I was attending and I decided to transfer to North Callaway. That is the best decision I have ever made. After high school Lydia plans to attend Saint Louis University to earn a bachelors in Aerospace Engineering. After college she hopes to work for NASA or Boeing design aircraft/spacecraft.
