New Teacher Feature: Meet Mr. Jarod Womack, Ag teacher and co-FFA sponsor at NCHS. Mr. Womack was born in Columbia, Mo and actually attended Kindergarten at Hatton-McCredie! His father worked for Union Electric and they moved a couple of times but ended up growing up in Kahoka, Missouri. After graduating from MU,he taught at Keytesville for two years and fifteen at Macon. He wife Melissa, is a new special education instructor at Williamsburg Elementary, and they have two children, Hudson who is 3, and Adley who is 2. They also have a dog, Belle. An interesting fact about Mr. Womack is that he loves to travel and has visited 18 countries! Two of his former teachers were instrumental in influencing his decision to become a teacher… his band teacher, Mr. Dooley, and agriculture teacher, Jarred Sayre. When asked what he was looking forward to the most in working with the students at NCHS, Mr. Womack stated, “Being in a rural community that has a lot of support for agriculture.” If he had to pick one word to describe himself, that word would be “compassionate.” If you have the pleasure of getting to meet Mr. Womack, give him a warm Thunderbird high five! #ThunderbirdProud
