On 09-09-17 the NCXC competed at the Linn Invitational. This is one of the biggest meets we go to all year. In all the athletes competed against 610 other runners. This is a great meet for the program. It has so much competition from some of the really great schools from Class 1 and Class 2 in the area to some mid-size class 3 schools.
The first race of the day was the JH Girls race. This race featured 131 runners. The girls finished 12th as a team and had one runner earn a medal for the Lady Birds, Rachael Jeffries placed 17th with a time of 11:38.5. Others running for the Lady Birds was Hannah Cundiff 26th place – 12:04.88, Piper Jeffries 85th place – 14:23.97, Alana Todd 90th place – 14:37.80 and Cadence Woodall 124th place 18:38.80
The JH Boys ran next in a field of 173 runners. Leading the Thunderbirds Jude Greene 36th place – 10:51.95. Other competing were Dayton Kiel 58th place – 11:24.77, Gavin Rasmussen 87th place – 12:04.50, Carson Safranski 105th place 12:31.42, and Caleb Rohrbach 162nd place 15:38.11. They place 19th as a team. Not competing was Brendan Reinhard.
The high school girls’ race was next with 155 runners. The girls placed 6th as a team and had 3 in the top 10. Leading the way for the Lady Birds was Reyna Schmauch 3rd Place – 21:29.55. Others receiving medals were Kyla Bertschinger 4th place – 21:30.43, and Kaleigh Moore 7th place – 22:19.05. Other running was Olivia Isaaacks 79th – 27:03.29, Julisa Moreno 83rd place – 27:12.74, Briana Douglas 86th place – 27:19.45, Brooke Fischer 104th place – 28:20.09, Alyssa Rinehart 105th place – 28:22.27 and Christa Gilman 130th place – 30:47.13. Not competing was Daelyn Schmauch.
The Varsity Boys competed last. They were led by Khobi Kellerman who placed 74th with a time of 21:34.25. Other competing was Ean Rohrbach 74th place – 22:05.94, Grant Eichman 111th place – 22:50.51, Noah Scrogum 129th place 24:00.87, Josh Craghead 140th place – 25:26.53, and Justin Coffman 148th place – 25:13.05. Not competing was Jared Bailey and Josh McCowan.
They compete on Saturday 9/16 at the Fulton Invitational.
